Salman Khan spoke to his colleague and friend, Akshay Kumar, who departed from the Bigg Boss 18 finale set prior to the commencement of filming on Sunday. Akshay was present on the set of the reality show, accompanied by Veer Pahariya, to promote their forthcoming film, Sky Force. Nevertheless, Akshay exited the venue even before the shooting started.

Subsequently, as the show commenced, Veer Pahariya arrived on set to assist Salman in announcing the first eviction of the grand finale, disclosing that Eisha Singh had been eliminated. Salman Khan mentioned that Akshay Kumar was present to promote his upcoming film but had to depart due to Salman's tardiness and Akshay's other professional obligations. "Akki (Akshay Kumar) is also part of the film. I was a bit late, and he had to leave for another engagement, so he departed," Salman stated.

HT City previously reported that Akshay had test screenings for another project, Jolly LLB 3, which necessitated his early exit. "True to his punctual nature, Akshay arrived on set for his shoot at the designated time, around 2:15 PM. However, Salman had not yet arrived. Akshay waited for an hour, but due to his commitment to the trial screening of Jolly LLB 3, he ultimately left without filming for the show," a source informed HT City, noting that multiple attempts were made to persuade Akshay to return, but he remained resolute in his decision to leave.

Sky Force, scheduled for release on January 24, just prior to Republic Day, features Akshay Kumar in the role of an Air Force officer engaged in a quest for vengeance after the loss of his comrades. This intense thriller is helmed by directors Sandeep Kewlani and Abhishek Kapur. Akshay is accompanied by newcomer Veer Pahariya, as well as Sara Ali Khan and Nimrat Kaur.

Bigg Boss 18 winner

Karan Veer Mehra was awarded the Big Boss Trophy early on Monday morning. Salman announced the winner on stage shortly after midnight. Karan triumphed over fellow television personality Vivian DSena in a closely fought finale. Fitness influencer Rajat Dalal, another fan favourite, secured third place. The remaining finalists in the top six included Avinash Mishra, Chum Darang, and Eisha Singh. Bigg Boss 18 was broadcast on Colors and simultaneously available for streaming on JioCinema.
