Actor Salman Khan has shared insights into the difficulties encountered by his parents, Salim Khan and Salma Khan, during their marriage. Surprisingly, he disclosed that the primary challenge was not rooted in their religious disparities, but rather in his father's career as a screenwriter.

Salman on reason behind parents' marital issues

Salman discussed his parents' marriage during a press conference in anticipation of his forthcoming film, Sikandar. In a conversation with a select group of journalists, he revealed that the primary issue in his parents' union was not rooted in religious differences, but rather in his father's career. He emphasized that the objections from his maternal family were not related to cultural practices, but were primarily concerned with his father's involvement in the film industry.

Salman stated, “The issue was never about the differences between Hindu and Muslim cultures; the more significant concern at that time was, ‘He is from the film industry.’”

Together with his partner Javed Akhtar, Salim Khan is recognized for producing numerous hit films, such as Don and Sholay. Salim married Salma in November 1964, and they have four children: Salman Khan, Arbaaz Khan, Sohail Khan, and Alvira. In 1981, Salim also married actress Helen.

Salman Khan’s upcoming film

Salman is looking forward to the premiere of his movie Sikandar. The trailer for the film was unveiled last week. It is produced by Sajid Nadiadwala’s company, Nadiadwala Grandson Entertainment. Directed by AR Murugadoss, who is recognized for his work in both Tamil and Hindi cinema, including films like Ghajini, Thuppakki, Holiday: A Soldier Is Never Off Duty, and Sarkar, Sikandar also features Kajal Aggarwal and Rashmika Mandanna. The film is scheduled to hit theaters on Eid 2025.
