Salman Khan is actively engaged in promoting his forthcoming film, Sikandar. On Wednesday, the actor held a media interaction at a hotel in Mumbai, where he was notably open, discussing various topics including the film itself and the ongoing discourse surrounding nepotism in the film industry.

Salman Khan on nepotism

When discussing his status as a 'self-made' star, Salman stated, "I do not believe anyone in this world is truly self-made. Success is a collective effort. If my father had not moved to Mumbai from Indore, I would likely be engaged in farming there. His decision was instrumental in shaping my path."

Salman acknowledged that he had the option to return home but opted instead to pursue a career in the film industry, following his father's legacy. "He came here and worked in films. As his son, I faced a choice: to go back or to stay in Mumbai. People often label this phenomenon with terms like nepotism, which I find amusing."

During a later part of the discussion, while journalists were discussing emerging talent, one reporter brought up Raveena Tandon's daughter entering the film industry. Salman mistakenly heard Raveena as Kangana and expressed surprise, asking, "Kangana ki beti aa rahi hain?" (Is Kangana's daughter coming?). When the journalists clarified the situation, Salman humorously remarked, "If Kangana's daughter is coming, will she pursue acting or enter politics?" In response to the mention of 'nepotism' by the journalists, the actor commented, "Yes, she or he will need to find another path."

Salman Khan's Sikandar

Salman encouraged audiences to visit theaters to see Sikandar, along with other films debuting this week. "I hope that those who are employed receive generous bonuses for Eid, allowing them to enjoy Sikandar, Mohanlal's L2: Empuraan, and Sunny Deol's latest release (Jaat). Three major stars are presenting significant films, and I wish for all of them to succeed," he remarked.

Sikandar features Rashmika Mandanna, Kajal Aggarwal, Sathyaraj, and Sharman Joshi. The film is set to premiere in theaters on May 30, coinciding with Eid.
