Actor Salman Khan has finally spoken out about the minimal support he receives from the Bollywood community for his films, including his recent project with Sikandar. In a recent interview, Salman acknowledged that he, too, needs support, but his colleagues seem to think he’s completely self-reliant and doesn’t need any help.
Salman Khan talks about not receiving shoutouts
In a chat with Bollywood Bubble, the interviewer noted that many of Salman's peers in the Hindi film industry tend to skip giving shoutouts to his projects, even though he often promotes their films, regardless of their budget or size.
Salman responded, saying, “They probably think I don’t need their support. But everyone needs support, including me.”
He then shifted focus to upcoming and recent films, demonstrating his ongoing support for fellow actors. He highlighted Sunny Deol's action film Jaat, set to hit theaters on April 10, 2025. Salman also mentioned the Malayalam movie L2: Empuraan, starring Mohanlal and Prithviraj Sukumaran, which was released just two days before Sikandar.
During the interview, which took place before Sikandar's release, Salman expressed, “I really hope L2: Empuraan does well... And Jaat is coming up soon. With the way Sunny is performing, he’s going to knock it out of the park.”
Salman Khan returns to the big screen
Salman is back on the big screen for the first time since 2023 with his new film, Sikandar, directed by AR Murugadoss. The movie features a strong cast, including Rashmika Mandanna, Kajal Aggarwal, Sathyaraj, and Sharman Joshi in key roles. This marks Salman's first Eid release in two years, and Sikandar hit theaters on Sunday, March 30. Directed by AR Murugadoss, known for his work on Ghajini, the film follows Salman as Sikandar, who embarks on a mission for justice to safeguard the three people who received organ donations from his wife.
According to the latest box office update from Sacnilk.com, Sikandar has earned ₹84.25 crore in India so far. The report indicates that the film made ₹9.75 crore on its fourth day, which is its lowest single-day earnings to date. It had a strong opening on Eid, a public holiday, with ₹26 crore, and saw a slight increase to ₹29 crore on the second day.
