Salman Khan Opens Up About Prison Struggles: "I Had No Control Over It"

Actor Salman Khan provided a unique perspective on his experiences during his time in prison. Recently, he engaged in a discussion with his nephew, Arhaan Khan, where he shared both personal and professional insights on Arhaan's podcast, Dumb Biryani. This appearance marked Salman’s inaugural participation in a podcast.

Throughout the dialogue, Salman contemplates his life journey. A notable moment from the conversation occurred when the Dabangg star candidly discussed his incarceration, capturing the interest of the audience.

Salman Khan on time in prison

In a discussion regarding the significance of hard work and discipline, the actor underscored that making excuses, such as the need for sleep, serves only as a hindrance to achieving success.

He stated, "I am tired." No, rise up. Regardless of your fatigue. "I can't sleep." Do not sleep. Engage in an activity; you will naturally feel tired. Therefore, I find it difficult to comprehend these notions... I manage to sleep for an hour and a half or two hours, and occasionally, once a month, I may sleep for seven hours."

"There are days when I have a five-minute interval between shots, during which I rest on a chair. In situations where I am unable to do anything, such as when I was incarcerated, I would sleep. There was nothing I could do about it... When it pertains to your work or family, the commitment you must consistently invest... you simply need to be present for your friends, family, and work," Salman further elaborated.

Why Salman Khan went to prison

Salman's incarceration was associated with a contentious case regarding the unlawful hunting of blackbucks in 1998. In April 2006, he received a five-year prison sentence and was subsequently taken to Jodhpur jail. He was granted bail shortly thereafter. In 2018, a Jodhpur court sentenced him to prison again in a related matter, leading to a brief period of imprisonment before he was released on bail once more.

On the cinematic front, Salman is set to star in AR Murugadoss' forthcoming film Sikandar, alongside Rashmika Mandanna. The film is expected to be released during Eid this year.

Last year, Salman provided a sneak peek from the filming of Sikandar. In addition to Sikandar, he is also anticipated to feature in Kick 2 in the upcoming months.
