The trailer for Salman Khan's film Sikandar was released on Sunday, sparking discussions regarding the significant age difference between the lead actors, Salman, who is 59, and Rashmika Mandanna, who is 28. In response to his critics, Salman stated that if Rashmika is comfortable with their age gap, then others should not have an issue with it.

Salman Khan addresses his critics

During the trailer launch event in Mumbai on Sunday, Salman, accompanied by the film's team including Rashmika, addressed the audience. He discussed the backlash he has received for collaborating with a younger actress and the 31-year age difference between him and Rashmika.

When the host praised Salman for his appearance, he remarked, "Sometimes, things get so chaotic that I go without sleep for six or seven nights. Then, those on social media start to pursue me, and I feel the need to prove that I’m still relevant."

He further added, “They point out the 31-year age gap between me and the heroine. But if the heroine has no issue and her father is also fine with it, why should you have a problem, my friend? When she eventually marries and has a daughter, I will work with her daughter as well. I’m sure her mother will give permission.”

At that moment, Rashmika was observed laughing at Salman’s comment.

Sikandar trailer released

The trailer for Sikandar has been unveiled. It features Salman in a grand persona, with the action-driven narrative focusing on his character's quest to dismantle a crime syndicate in Mumbai. Rashmika portrays the role of Salman's romantic interest.

Sikandar is set to premiere in theatres on Eid 2025. The film is directed by AR Murugadoss, renowned for his work in both Tamil and Hindi cinema, and includes titles like Ghajini, Thuppakki, Holiday: A Soldier Is Never Off Duty, and Sarkar. Additionally, Kajal Aggarwal is part of the cast. The project is produced under Sajid Nadiadwala’s Nadiadwala Grandson Entertainment banner.
