Salaar actor Pramod: ‘I was very happy to take up Bhuvanam Gaganam because…’

Pramod Panju, who was last seen in Kannada cinema in Bond Ravi and English Manja and had a pivotal role in Prabhas’ Salaar, wanted a break from the mass masala commercial films he was doing and was very glad when he was offered Bhuvanam Gaganam. “I wanted to be seen as a lover boy and get to romance onscreen, because I was doing a lot of raw and gritty action movies. The idea was to show audiences that I can pull off a romantic hero’s role as well. I got that with Bhuvanam Gaganam, which is now ready for release; the film has turned out quite well,” said Pramod during a conversation with RJ Nethra on Star Express.

Exclusive! I want to see how Salaar benefits my career, says Pramod

Pramod Panju has seen the film in which he is joined by Dia-fame Pruthvi Ambaar and is paired with Love Mocktail 2’s Rachel David. He reckons that the subject that’s been tackled in the film will resonate with audiences and that has him excited about Bhuvanam Gaganam’s impending release. In fact, Pramod says that Pruthvi not only has the better role, but has also carried it perfectly. “His role is more likely to stay with audiences after they’ve seen the film,” adds Pramod.

The actor also says that this is perhaps the first time in his career that he is not nervous about his film’s release. “Normally, no matter how good a film is, you still tend to be worried about the outcome. This time, I have no such feeling and am very confident that the film will appeal to audiences. There are two love stories in the film and a journey, all of which has been connected beautifully, In fact, after a recent screening, one of the comments that came up was that the film’s best chemistry is between Pruthvi and me,” Pramod laughs.

Pramod: After Salaar, I was offered an antagonist role that I turned down

In his limited filmography so far, Pramod has tried to experiment with different kinds of roles, but his priority, he says, is to make clean entertainers that can be enjoyed by family audiences.
