Saif Ali Khan has finally addressed the incident that occurred earlier this year when he was attacked by an intruder at his residence. In an interview with Bombay Times, the actor recounted the sequence of events and shared insights into his wife, actress Kareena Kapoor Khan's, emotional state during the ordeal.

Quiet night turns chaotic

Saif recounted that while Kareena went out for dinner, he remained at home to prepare for work the following morning. Upon her return, they engaged in conversation for a short time before she retired for the night.

After a while, the house staff became alarmed and shouted, "There's an intruder!" A man wielding a knife was demanding money in their son Jeh's room. Although the actor may have miscalculated the timing, it was already late—approximately 2 a.m.

Kareena Kapoor Khan's quick thinking

Saif elaborated that during the attack, Kareena Kapoor took immediate action by guiding Jeh to Tim's room. "Get the child out!" she urged, as he recalls.

Their intention was to confront the intruder. Kareena then decisively stated, "No, we must leave!" It was imperative to take Saif to the hospital and ensure Jeh's safety. Kareena sensed that the intruder might still be present and feared there could be others.

Subsequently, they all proceeded downstairs. Kareena was urgently calling for a rickshaw, taxi, or any available transport. Saif mentioned experiencing some pain and discomfort in his back.

Kareena Kapoor Khan's protective instint

She instructed him, "You go to the hospital, and I will head to my sister’s house." In her panic, no one was responding to her calls. Saif reassured her that he was fine, exchanging glances that conveyed he would survive.

Saif also noted that Taimur remained remarkably calm and was unharmed. The child expressed his desire to accompany his father. Furthermore, Saif felt a profound sense of relief upon seeing him, as if it provided reassurance in a moment of uncertainty. He preferred not to travel alone.

Kareena was aware that Taimur would be a source of support for Saif, which prompted her to send him along. While it may not have been strictly necessary, it felt appropriate at that moment and provided Saif with a sense of comfort. The actor also contemplated that, in the event of an unforeseen circumstance, he would prefer to have his son by his side. Taimur was equally eager to accompany them. Consequently, Saif, along with Taimur and their househelp Hari, boarded the rickshaw and set off.

Regarding Kareena Kapoor Khan's current state, Saif Ali Khan remarked on her remarkable resilience, attributing it to her unwavering determination. Although she was understandably shaken and concerned about matters such as safety and the potential for similar incidents to recur, she has been managing well.
