On January 21, Saif Ali Khan was discharged from the hospital and returned home after being injured in a knife attack. The incident occurred on January 16 when an intruder repeatedly stabbed the actor inside his Bandra apartment in the early hours. Saif was quickly rushed to Lilavati Hospital, where he underwent emergency surgery for multiple injuries. Recently, Bhajan Singh Rana, the auto driver who helped Saif get to the hospital, met the actor. Speaking to the media, the driver shared that Saif had given him some money and assured him of his support whenever needed.
Saif Ali Khan meets auto driver who saved him
Saif Ali Khan was admitted to Lilavati Hospital in Bandra following the attack and met the auto driver, Bhajan Singh Rana, on January 21 before being discharged. Rana shared with PTI that Saif expressed his gratitude for helping him get to the hospital. The driver also mentioned that Saif praised him and even received blessings from his family. Rana further revealed, "He introduced me to his mother, Sharmila Tagore, and I touched her feet. He gave me some money, saying he would be there to help me whenever I needed it."
The auto driver also mentioned that he was thrilled to meet such a prominent star and his family. He added, "I can't blame him for not paying me when I took him to the hospital; who would think about that in such a situation? It would be understandable if someone in that condition didn’t even pay—you just want them to be safe."
Man who entered Saif Ali Khan's residence, arrested
The intruder, Mohammad Shariful Islam Shehzad, a Bangladeshi national who had entered India illegally and assumed the name Vijay Das, was arrested on January 19 in Thane. He was able to gain access to Saif Ali Khan and Kareena Kapoor Khan's residence because the security guards were asleep, as per the Mumbai Police. Following this terrifying incident, security measures around their home have been strengthened.
