Saif Ali Khan arrived at his residence in Bandra shortly after being released from Lilavati Hospital. The actor made his way into his building after stepping out of his vehicle, accompanied by a significant police presence. Images capturing Saif's return home were extensively circulated by various paparazzi accounts.

Sources familiar with the actor disclosed to HT that Saif opted against using a wheelchair and chose to walk back on his own. The actor was greeted with enthusiastic applause from the journalists gathered to photograph him at his residence.

The attack on Saif Ali Khan

Saif Ali Khan, aged 54, was the victim of a stabbing incident on Thursday morning, inflicted by an intruder at his residence in Bandra, where he resides with his wife, Kareena Kapoor, and their two children. He arrived at Lilavati Hospital at 3 a.m. on Thursday and has been under medical care since then. Following a five-hour surgical procedure at the same hospital, he was later transferred to the Intensive Care Unit. A fragment of the knife was removed from his body during the operation.

The actor sustained six wounds in the assault, including two significant lacerations. Medical professionals at Lilavati Hospital reported that he was leaking spinal fluid upon his arrival. Fortunately, he did not suffer any life-threatening injuries and is reportedly making a good recovery, according to the doctors.

In the wake of the incident, both social media and the film industry have lauded the actor as a hero for his courageous actions in confronting the assailant to safeguard his family and staff.

Accused arrested

The individual suspected of the attack was taken into custody on Sunday. The 30-year-old suspect, known as Shariful Islam Shehzad Mohammad Rohilla Amin Fakir, who has since adopted the name Vijay Das, has been placed in police detention for five days.
