Sai Pallavi explains her motivation for pursuing a National Film Award

When asked if she feels any pressure due to the praise for Sai Pallavi's performance in Amaran, which has many hoping for a National Film Award, the actor shared a story from her early career when winning such an award was a big dream for her.

"It might sound a bit silly, but I always wanted a National Award. When I was about 21, my grandmother gifted me a saree, telling me to save it for my wedding. At that time, I thought marriage was just around the corner, even though I hadn’t made my first film yet. By the time I was 23 or 24, I did Premam, and I believed I would win a big award someday. Back then, the National Award felt like the ultimate prize, and I thought I’d wear that saree when I won it,” Sai Pallavi explained, linking the saree to her aspirations for the National Film Award. She added that whether she wins or not, the pressure remains until she gets to wear that saree.

Sai Pallavi also noted that if people can connect with her characters, that’s the greatest recognition she could ask for.

The date for Thandel's release

Thandel is a romantic drama featuring Naga Chaitanya and Sai Pallavi in the main roles, and it's their second project together after Love Story. Directed by Chandoo Mondeti and produced by Geetha Arts, the film is set to hit theaters on February 7, with music composed by Devi Sri Prasad.

On another note, Sai Pallavi's performance as Indhu Rebecca Varghese in Amaran received a lot of praise. This film is a biopic about the late Major Mukund Varadarajan and can be streamed on Netflix.
