Actor Allu Arjun attended a local court session virtually on Friday regarding his bail in the Sandhya Theatre stampede incident. He is one of the accused in the case linked to the death of a woman during a stampede in Hyderabad at the premiere of his recent film, Pushpa 2: The Rule.

The actor's regular bail petition, in which he is identified as accused number 11, was presented for consideration on Friday. The police requested additional time to address the matter, leading the court to reschedule the hearing for December 30.

Allu Arjun's apprehension

Allu Arjun was apprehended on December 13 in relation to the incident and subsequently presented before the Nampally court, which ordered a 14-day judicial custody. Shortly after his transfer to jail, the Telangana High Court granted him interim bail for a duration of four weeks, leading to his release on December 14.

As the 14-day remand issued by the Nampally court was set to conclude on Friday, Allu Arjun attended the court proceedings via video conference, citing security concerns and the desire to minimize any disruption for the public visiting the court.

On December 4, a tragic incident occurred at the Sandhya Theatre in Hyderabad, resulting in the death of a 35-year-old woman and injuries to her eight-year-old son during a stampede-like scenario as fans rushed to see the actor at the premiere of Pushpa 2: The Rule. In the aftermath, the city police initiated a case against Allu Arjun, his security personnel, and the theatre management under various sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) at the Chikkadpally police station, following a complaint filed by the family of the deceased.
