Veteran actor Sabyasachi Chakrabarty became ill on March 19 and felt chest pain. He was admitted to a private hospital. After investigation, blockages in his heart were found. Later, a pacemaker was implanted the next day. Finally, the veteran actor was discharged from the hospital on March 22.

Sabyasachi's family did not want to disclose any information about his illness. But the hospital sources said that he came back home and is now doing well. According to Anandabazar Online, Sabyasachi’s daughter-in-law Ridhima Ghosh said that her father-in-law was doing better. “The doctors advised him for a few days of rest,” she said.

Sabyasachi was present at his grandchild Dheer's Annaprasana ceremony. Dheer is the son of Gaurav Chakrabarty and Ridhima Ghosh. Sabyasachi was not only present but also supervised everything in the ceremony. His wife, Mithu Chakrabarty was seen talking to the guests and ended up being custodians of Dheer’s gifts.

The Chakraborty family is now happy and relieved with Sabyasachi's recovery. He will start shooting the film Devi Chowdhurani: Bandit Queen of Bengal, directed by Subhrajit Mitra, after recovering.
