Saif Ali Khan arrived home on Tuesday following his discharge from Lilavati Hospital, prompting a collective sigh of relief from both his family and fans. The actor had undergone surgery after being attacked by an intruder at his residence in Bandra on January 16. Shortly after his return, Saif's sister and jewellery designer Saba Ali Khan expressed her gratitude to the 'unsung heroes' involved in the incident.

On Tuesday evening, Saba utilized her Instagram Stories to post several selfies featuring Saif's staff, including his youngest son Jeh's nanny, Eliyama Philip, along with another female staff member. She expressed her gratitude by stating, "The unsung heroes... who truly stepped up when it was most crucial! I am grateful to both of you and to everyone who played a role in ensuring the safety of my brother and his family! You are exceptional."

Saba recently provided a health update regarding Saif following her visit to him at the hospital. She expressed her joy in being reunited, stating, "It is wonderful to be back and spend time with my brother (heart emoji). I am pleased to see him maintaining a positive outlook and making steady progress over the past two days. Although I only recently discovered that I had fractured my finger, it serves as a reminder of our father's (abba's) cricket-related injuries! I was tempted to allow my finger to heal like his by remaining inactive (winking face emoji), but that plan did not materialize! I am grateful to be with family! Together always (hugging face emoji)."

About the incident

Saif sustained stab wounds to his thoracic spine when an intruder, later identified as Mohd Shariful Islam Shehzad, unlawfully entered his residence with the purported intention of theft last week. Following the incident, the actor was promptly transported to Lilavati Hospital in Mumbai for urgent medical attention due to the severity of his injuries.

In response to the crime, the police established 20 investigative teams and registered a case under multiple sections of the Bharatiya Nyay Sanhita. The suspect was apprehended at Hiranandani Estate in Thane while attempting to escape to his home village. Authorities reported that he originates from the Jhalokati district in Bangladesh.
