Filmmaker SS Rajamouli recently shared an update following his solo trek to Deomali, the highest peak in Odisha. On Wednesday, he took to X (formerly known as Twitter) to express his disappointment at finding the trail littered with waste. In response to Rajamouli's tweet, Suparno Satpathy, a socio-political leader from Odisha, has offered his comments.

Rajamouli's Odisha trek turned ‘disheartening’

Rajamouli posted a video montage on X, captured from a mountain summit. The footage depicted plastic bottles and various types of litter scattered among the rocks. The clip concluded with Rajamouli striking a pose for the camera, dressed in a green T-shirt, trousers, and white sneakers.

Rajamouli talks about civic sense

In sharing the video, Rajamouli expressed, "I embarked on an incredible solo trek to Deomali, the highest and most beautiful peak in Odisha. The panoramic view from the summit was truly awe-inspiring. Unfortunately, it was disappointing to observe the trail littered with waste. These natural treasures deserve greater respect. A small act of civic responsibility can lead to significant improvements… Every visitor should take their trash with them to help preserve these locations."

What Odisha leader said

Suparno, in response to Rajamouli's tweet, stated, "Dear @ssrajamouli, I am sorry to hear about your unfortunate experience at the beautiful Deomali. I urge those in authority to ensure that 'Visitors are thoroughly educated and violators face significant penalties.' - SS. P.S.
