The current legal dispute involving Justin Baldoni did not dampen the spirits of Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds during the SNL50: The Anniversary Special event held at Studio 8H in New York City on Sunday evening.

Although the couple had maintained a low profile amidst the ongoing It Ends With Us controversy, they made a joyful appearance on their first significant red carpet, mingling with a host of Saturday Night Live alumni and other prominent celebrities who attended the event. The Gossip Girl star also took a moment to pose for a photograph backstage alongside fellow actress Dakota Johnson.

Photos shared on Instagram captured the couple alongside Chevy Chase during the festivities. A variety of other notable figures from Saturday Night Live were also present to honor the renowned comedian.

Blake Lively's legal war with Justin Baldoni

Their latest notable public appearance occurred merely days after Justin Baldoni, Blake's co-star and director, sought a court order to restrict the former Green Lantern duo from accessing extensive records of his phone calls and text messages.

Mitchell Schuster his attorney, expressed in a letter to the court, “It is difficult to emphasize how extensive, intrusive, and unusual these subpoenas are. This is a civil case, not a criminal trial, and (Lively and Reynolds) are not law enforcement.”

A representative for Lively previously responded to Baldoni's criticisms by stating, “If they possess so much evidence, why are they hesitant to present it?” The actress from The Shallows recently took the step of submitting subpoenas in an ongoing effort to gather additional evidence regarding Baldoni's purported unlawful smear campaign. In the meantime, the star of Jane the Virgin claims that Blake is attempting to damage his reputation through her sexual harassment allegations and other claims.

Saturday Night Live 50th Anniversary Special

The celebrations for the landmark sketch comedy program commenced on Friday at Radio City Hall, marking an unmissable milestone. As the 50th-anniversary festivities progressed on the evening of February 16, a host of celebrities arrived to partake in the viewing.

Among the notable attendees at the SNL Anniversary Special red carpet were Tina Fey, Kristen Wiig, Paul Rudd, Amy Poehler, Maya Rudolph, Pedro Pascal, Jenna Ortega, Kevin Costner, Kate McKinnon, Heidi Gardner, Nick Jonas, and Ayo Edebiri. Amelia Dimoldenberg, the host of Chicken Shop Date, was designated as the official red-carpet correspondent for this prestigious event.

The Sunday night show commenced with a poignant duet by Sabrina Carpenter and Paul Simon. In a nostalgic moment, they performed “Homeward Bound,” a song that Simon originally played on SNL in 1976 alongside George Harrison.

The Anniversary Special was broadcast live on Sunday night at 8 pm ET / 5 pm PT on NBC, with Peacock providing a simultaneous stream of the ceremony on its platform.
