In the wake of sending Esha a defamation notice amounting to ₹50 crore, the actress has now addressed the controversy surrounding her personal life.

Rupali Ganguly reacts to controversy revolving around her personal life

In a discussion with Instant Bollywood, Rupali Ganguly, known for her role in Anupamaa, expressed her thoughts on the controversy surrounding her personal life. She stated, "To claim that such matters do not impact me would be untruthful. Naturally, these issues affect us, as we are human beings. It is painful when someone makes even a minor remark behind our backs."

She further remarked, "Those who care for me will continue to do so. Continue to perform good deeds, and good things will come your way, whether today or tomorrow... Everyone encounters difficult times; unfortunate events do occur, but ultimately, the truth prevails."

The feud between Rupali Ganguly and her step-daughter

The situation escalated when a post from Esha, dating back to 2020, gained significant attention online. In this post, Esha accused Rupali Ganguly of being the catalyst for the dissolution of her parent's marriage, alleging that Rupali had issued threats to both Esha Verma and her mother. During an interview with Bollywood Bubble, Esha expressed uncertainty about how Rupali and her father, Ashwin K, would respond to these allegations. She noted that her father had recently made a statement on Twitter, asserting that Rupali was not involved, which Esha refuted as a falsehood. She recounted an incident where Rupali allegedly visited her home in New Jersey and occupied the bed shared by her parents. Esha described the extensive physical, mental, verbal, and emotional abuse she and her mother endured, stating that it caused them significant trauma and suffering, which they felt was exacerbated by Rupali's public persona.

In response, Rupali Ganguly issued a defamation notice demanding ₹50 crore from Esha, claiming that Esha's actions had tarnished her reputation, infringed upon her dignity, and negatively affected her career, leading to considerable financial repercussions. Following this development, Rupali's stepdaughter removed all posts related to Rupali from her social media accounts and set her Instagram profile to private.
