Rozlyn Khan Criticizes Hina Khan’s Cancer Portrayal, Wants to Lead a Realistic Film

A significant controversy has arisen between cancer survivor Rozlyn Khan and television personality Hina Khan, following Rozlyn's public accusation that Hina is overstating the seriousness of her breast cancer diagnosis. The conflict ignited when Rozlyn, who has her own experience with cancer, voiced her concerns that Hina’s depiction of her illness could mislead both fans and other cancer patients.
Rozlyn's primary criticism focused on Hina's fasting habits while claiming to be battling stage 3 cancer. She remarked, “You must have noticed that Hina Khan is currently fasting, despite being diagnosed with stage 3 cancer and having undergone major surgery 8-9 months ago. Fasting for 14-15 hours without food or water is extremely challenging for a cancer survivor, and it is evident that she is spreading falsehoods. I am not denying that she has cancer; she does. However, the extent of her exaggeration is entirely fabricated.” Rozlyn further ridiculed Hina’s representation of cancer, stating, “In the name of cancer, there is a farce unfolding. A cancer patient undergoing chemotherapy is seen swimming, scuba diving, and now fasting. Witnessing all of this has inspired me to consider making a film with her as the lead. She is the female Rajinikanth; no one can portray cancer better than she does.”
The situation escalated when Rozlyn shared what she claimed to be Hina’s PET scan reports, alleging that Hina had been diagnosed with stage 2 breast cancer, rather than the stage 3 diagnosis that Hina had publicly stated. Rozlyn’s disclosure led to further accusations of Hina misrepresenting her condition to her followers. “People struggling with Cancer right now, I would like to tell them that do not follow any celebrity, including me. Listen to your doctor, and do as your doctor guides you because there is so much misinformation circulating on social media in India, especially Instagram. So just be careful,” Rozlyn warned, advising cancer patients to trust medical professionals rather than celebrity accounts on social media.
Rozlyn’s harsh words have sparked a wider debate about the portrayal of serious illnesses like cancer on social media and the responsibility celebrities have when discussing their health. While some defend Hina’s right to share her personal journey, others support Rozlyn’s concern about the potential harm caused by spreading misinformation about such a serious condition.
