In a surprising behind-the-scenes moment, Robert Pattinson asked Zendaya for help with a tough scene that was really getting to him. The two actors, who will be appearing together in the much-anticipated film The Drama, are dealing with some intense emotions in the story, which revolves around a couple whose love story takes a wild turn right before their wedding.
Zendaya lends a hand to Pattinson with a scene that really had him feeling ‘crazy’
The script for the duo's upcoming film had its fair share of challenges, but there was one particular scene that really drove Pattinson “crazy.” In a chat with the French magazine Premiere, he shared, “We had a scene together that was really messing with my head. I was frantically trying to figure out its meaning, writing tons of analysis.” Luckily, his co-star stepped in to help him out.
Pattinson recounted, “I ended up calling Zendaya the night before we shot the scene. I poured out my concerns to her for two hours, and eventually, she calmly helped me realize that the line was just straightforward, with no hidden layers,” as reported by The Independent.
Pattinson experienced a ‘mental breakdown’ during the filming of a scene for Die, My Love
Pattinson's habit of getting deeply immersed in his roles isn't exactly a surprise, as he mentioned in a recent chat. Looking back on his time filming Die, My Love, a marital drama directed by Lynne Ramsay, the Twilight actor confessed he almost hit a breaking point.
While the film's heavy storyline and emotional weight were tough to handle, it was the dance scenes that really threw him for a loop. He said, “I worked on this movie with Lynne Ramsay, and she’s an amazing dancer. Jennifer Lawrence is also a fantastic dancer. They make it look so effortless.”
Pattinson added, “They were like, ‘Just dance, it’s just music, just dance.’ I was thinking, ‘I’m going to lose it when this happens. We need to either plan it out or cut it.’ But they were like, ‘No, just dance, stop being so dramatic.’ On the day of filming, I was so nervous that I was drenched in sweat, even my pants were soaked.”
Both of Pattinson’s upcoming films, The Drama and Die, My Love, are set to come out this year, but there are no specific release dates announced yet.
