Shilpa Shetty and Rituparna Sengupta’s viral video created a buzz on social media recently. The video shows Rituparna Sengupta passing Shilpa Shetty while the latter poses in front of photojournalists and no actress acknowledges each other. There has been a lot of speculation on the subject. 

The incident took place at an event in Mumbai. The video shows Shilpa posing for the photographers. Rituparna was seen walking between Shilpa and the photographers. Some netizens even suggested that Rituparna purposefully disturbed the photography session. Some other people said that Shilpa did not recognize Rituparna. Rituparna’s fans were displeased that the photographers did not recognize her. Later Rituparna posted a series of photos with Shilpa from the event and refuted the claims. In an interview, the actress said that someone videoed the incident and ‘spread rumours’. “No photographer except the program authorities was allowed there. Someone recorded the video and spread the rumor,” Rituparna told Anandabazar Online. She made it clear that the authorities were supposed to bring her inside at that time. She went ahead after getting the invitation to go inside. Neither she nor Shilpa noticed each other. 

Both of the actresses have known each other for a long time. Rituparna said, “We talked at the lounge. We sat side by side at the event.” Rituparna had Bhagyashree and Shilpa at her two sides. Rituparna was seen on the stage also. What about the trolling on social media? Rituparna said, “It is an unintended incident. But I saw that many people commented positively about me on social media also.”
