Notorious entrepreneur Ashneer Grover is poised to make his return to the OTT space. This time, he will not be appearing as a ‘shark’ but rather as the host of a new reality show. The former Bharat Pe founder is set to lead the program titled Rise and Fall on MX Player, as announced during a special event held in Mumbai on Thursday.

A teaser for the show features Ashneer presenting viewers with a divided house. The upper section is dominated by the powerful, while the lower section is occupied by those of lesser status. He assures audiences of a game filled with dramatic rises and falls, along with numerous instances of double standards.

The official synopsis:

Rise and Fall is a global television format that has made its debut in India through Amazon MX Player. A diverse array of contestants, representing various segments of society, convenes in a prominent skyscraper. They are divided into two factions: Rulers and Workers. The Rulers possess the authority to make decisions that significantly impact the lives of the Workers, who lack any power. The Workers, residing in the challenging environment of the basement, endeavour to earn money and gain favour with those in positions of authority. The cash prize begins at zero and increases only when the Workers complete work shift tasks, which are supervised by the Rulers.

As the competition unfolds through a series of intense votes, Workers have the opportunity to ascend to the status of Rulers, while the Rulers may find themselves relegated to the basement or eliminated from the game. Rise and Fall is distributed by All3Media International and was initially developed by Studio Lambert and Motion Content Group for Channel 4 in the United Kingdom.
