Actors Richa Chadha and Ali Fazal celebrated the arrival of their baby girl, Zuneyra Ida Fazal, last July. Richa opened up about her initial experiences with motherhood, emphasizing how valuable it is to have your partner around during those early days. In a chat with Faye D'Souza on her YouTube channel, Richa mentioned that Ali requested paternity leave after their daughter was born, but unfortunately, it didn’t come through.

When the host mentioned paternity leave, Richa chimed in, saying, “Ali wanted to take paternity leave after our baby was born, but it didn’t really happen. Everyone just laughed and said, ‘Oh, you want time off? Sure, a week or two is cool.’ Luckily, his shoot got delayed for another reason, so he could be there with me. I can’t even describe how scary it is for a new parent.”

Not everyone has the means to access great childcare

She added, “You’re juggling so many emotions, there’s no sleep, and you’re dealing with all sorts of aches and pains along with that brain fog… Having a partner around is super helpful. Not everyone can afford top-notch childcare in our country.” Richa also mentioned that it’s crucial to have more women in leadership roles so the economy can operate differently.

Richa Chadha and Ali Fazal first crossed paths while filming Fukrey. They announced their eco-friendly wedding plans in September 2022 and tied the knot in Lucknow on October 4. Last year, they shared a sweet glimpse of their daughter on Instagram, saying, “Doing a collab post to announce the biggest collab of our lives!! We’ve been blessed indeed. Our baby girl keeps us very, very busy. Thank you all for your love and blessings," the caption read.

Richa was last seen in Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s web series Heeramandi: The Diamond Bazaar on Netflix, while Ali appeared in Mirzapur 3 on Prime Video. He’s set to star in Metro In Dino, Lahore 1947, and Thug Life soon.
