The Central Bureau of Investigation has submitted a closure report regarding the death of Sushant Singh Rajput. On Saturday, Rhea Chakraborty's attorney, Satish Maneshinde, expressed his support for the closure report and issued a statement about the case. He praised Rhea and her family for enduring significant hardships over the years and mentioned that he took on the case without charging any fees.

What the attorney mentioned

Satish mentioned, "After nearly four and a half years, the CBI has submitted a closure report regarding Sushant Singh Rajput's death. We appreciate the CBI for their comprehensive investigation into every detail of the case and for bringing it to a close. The level of misinformation circulating on social and electronic media was completely unnecessary. With the pandemic keeping everyone at home, many turned to TV and social media for news, leading to innocent individuals being targeted and showcased by the media and investigative bodies. I really hope we don’t see this happen again in any future cases."

I’m really proud to have provided pro bono support for a Fauji Family

He continued by saying, “I urge the media leaders to think about their actions. Rhea Chakravarty endured immense suffering and spent 27 days in jail for something she didn’t do until Justice Sarang V Kotwal granted her bail. I admire her and her family for their strength in silence while facing such inhumane treatment. They reached out to me through a mutual friend and a defense personnel who I studied with at Sainik School. Both Rhea’s family and my team faced harassment and threats to our safety, but nothing stopped us from fulfilling our legal responsibilities. I’m proud to have defended a military family without charge, and that should put to rest any speculation about my fees. I also want to thank a significant portion of the media for supporting Rhea and her quest for justice. This country remains safe, and every citizen seeking justice has hope thanks to our dynamic judiciary.”

Sushant was discovered dead in his Mumbai residence on June 14, 2020. His father filed a complaint against Rhea Chakraborty, accusing her of aiding in his suicide. Both Rhea and her brother, Showik Chakraborty, were arrested by the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) in connection with a drug case tied to Sushant. The investigation was later handed over to the CBI, which is currently looking into the circumstances surrounding the actor’s death.
