Actor Renu Desai experienced a passionate romance and marriage with actor-politician Pawan Kalyan in the early 2000s, but they eventually divorced and pursued separate paths. Pawan later married Russian actress Anna Lezhneva, while Renu chose not to remarry. In a recent episode of the Nikhil Vijayendra Simha podcast, she discussed her decision to remain single and her engagement that ended in 2018.

During the podcast, Renu was asked if she ever longs for a partner to support her after her past experiences. She responded, “Certainly, I desire companionship. However, my sense of responsibility towards my children prevents me from pursuing it. If I consider it from a personal perspective, I believe I should have a boyfriend, a marriage, and a fulfilling life. Yet, when I think about my children’s needs…”

She then addressed her broken engagement in 2018, stating, “I attempted to start anew and got engaged through an arranged process. However, I realized that I would not be able to give either the relationship or my children the attention they deserve. As a single parent, the dynamics are different. When you marry someone and have children together, it’s a distinct situation. But when you have children with someone else, it becomes a delicate matter for another person to enter the picture. I am waiting for Aadhya to mature; she is 15 now, and perhaps when she turns 18 and heads to college, I will reconsider.”

Regarding Renu Desai and Pawan Kalyan, for those unfamiliar, the couple was quite popular in the early 2000s, having starred together in the films Badri and Johnny in 2003. They welcomed their first child, Akira Nandan, in 2004, married in 2009, and had their second child, Aadhya, in 2010. They filed for divorce in 2011, which was finalized in 2012.

Pawan married Anna in 2013, and they have two children, Mark Shankar Pawanovich and Polena Anjana Pawanova. He was previously married to Nandini in 1997, but they separated in 1999, with their divorce finalized in 2008. Renu's engagement in 2018 was kept private, as she chose not to disclose her fiancé's name due to his non-public status. Their relationship ultimately ended.
