Actor Nitanshi Goel gained significant acclaim and affection for her role as Phool in Kiran Rao's film Laapataa Ladies last year. The 17-year-old actress recently had the opportunity to meet Rekha at an event, where they took a selfie together. When speaking to a paparazzo account, Nitanshi revealed that Rekha inquired about her tendency to cry frequently.

What Rekha told Nitanshi

Reflecting on the experience, Nitanshi Goel remarked, "This is a significant moment for me. Who isn't a fan of Rekha ji? When I had the opportunity to meet her, she was aware that I had won at IIFA and had cried during my speech. She then gently asked me, 'Why are you crying, Nitanshi? You have such lovely dreams; continue to dream like that.'"

She concluded by stating that the way she encountered me and her awareness of my existence is incredibly significant to me.

Last month, Nitanshi received the Best Actress in a Leading Role (Female) award at the IIFA Awards 2025. She triumphed over notable contenders such as Alia Bhatt (Jigra), Katrina Kaif (Merry Christmas), Yami Gautam (Article 370), and Shraddha Kapoor (Stree 2), marking her first major acting accolade. During her acceptance speech, she was visibly emotional, nearly overwhelmed with tears, as she expressed her gratitude to the film's team and her family.

Laapataa Ladies, known internationally as Lost Ladies, narrates the tale of two newlywed brides who are inadvertently swapped during a train journey to their husbands' residences.
