Jennie from BLACKPINK is on a roll with her debut solo album, Ruby. She just launched her solo tour, The Ruby Experience, in Los Angeles on March 6. But some clips from the concert popped up online, and a lot of fans felt her performance fell flat and didn’t have much energy.

A Reddit user posted a clip of Jennie from one of her solo tour performances. However, many viewers quickly noted that her background dancers were stealing the spotlight, and some even mentioned that her lip-syncing was off. One comment said, "The dancer in white totally killed it." Another user added, "The backup dancers are on fire, while she seems like she’s just making a TikTok." Someone else chimed in, "The backup dancers are really shining... and it makes her look even less impressive." Another comment pointed out, "Her album is enjoyable, but this performance seems a bit shaky."

Jennie faced some backlash for not bringing enough energy to her performance, with a lot of people noticing that her lip-syncing seemed a bit off. One user on Reddit asked, "Is she... actually supposed to be singing?" and another chimed in, "This is the worst lip-syncing I've ever witnessed." There was also a comment that said, "Does she even know the lyrics to the song?" Plus, someone else mentioned, "I guess she'll always be stuck with those lazy Jennie claims."

When Jennie dealt with criticism

Jennie recently caught some heat after dropping the teaser for her new track, "Like Jennie." A few listeners from India thought it sounded a lot like the theme song for Alia Bhatt’s character Rani in Karan Johar’s 2023 film, "Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani." Social media exploded with comparison videos, and some folks even accused her of copying Pritam’s work. But her fans jumped to her defense, saying that just because two songs share similarities doesn’t mean she plagiarized. Pritam himself later backed Jennie up.

After her show in Los Angeles, Jennie took the stage at Radio City Music Hall in New York on March 10 as part of her solo tour, "The Ruby Experience." She’s set to wrap things up with her final concert at Inspire Arena in Incheon, Seoul, South Korea, on March 15.
