Mr. Bachchan is all set to release on August 15, 2024. Ravi Teja plays the main lead, and he speaks to us about the idea of remaking Raid in Telugu, doing back-to-back films, working with Harish Shankar, and not bothering about failures.

What made you choose Raid to remake in Telugu as Mr. Bachchan

Not many know, but the offer to remake Ajay's Raid came to me long ago. The person who brought it to me did not adapt it properly, and I rejected the offer. But when I learned Harish Shankar was remaking the film, I did not even hear the script and okayed the film right away. I know how Harish makes changes to the original and gives it a mass touch, and that is the reason why I went ahead with Raid.

How different are Raid and Mr. Bachchan?

Harish Shankar has taken the basic plot and changed everything. Raid is a serious film, but in Mr. Bachchan, the entire first half is hilarious. All those who saw Raid will get to see only 20% of the original. The rest is new and has been narrated in a superb manner. After a long time, I feel my fans will have a blast in the theaters.

You launched Harish Shankar with Shock. Tell us about his work for Mr. Bachchan.

Harish Shankar has always been a close friend of mine. He has evolved a lot as an experienced director. In today's time, no one understands the mass pulse like Harish does. The way he showcases his heroines, adds a lot of comedy to his films, and elevates heroism is something only a few can do. I am super confident that Harish will score a massive hit with Mr. Bachchan.

Working with the likes of Bhagyashree Borse?

When Harish came up to me with her name, I was not that convinced. But when I saw her snaps and a few Ads of her, I was impressed. But Bhagyashree has shocked one and all with her performance. Not only will say that Mr. Bachchan is her first film. The way she has danced, dubbed her own lines, and shares a sizzling chemistry, she will be the next crush for the Telugu audience.

Mr. Bachchan's music has become a rage. A word about it

Mickey J. Meyer has been around for a long time now, but no one expected him to score such a mass album for Mr. Bachchan. Every song that has come out is a smash hit. The fans will go crazy in the theaters, as the acting and choreography have taken things to the next level. The BGM is also one of the highlights of the film.

Competition with Puri Jagan's Double Ismart

I am sad that both our films are coming on the same day. Puri is a dear friend who has shaped my career. The producers decided on Mr. Bachchan's release plan. It is such a big film, and they felt that the Independence Day weekend would be the best time to release it. Also, I feel that times have changed now. If the film is good, the audience will watch both releases. Only the content needs to impress.

Mr Bachchan is your third film with TG Vishwa Prasad. What's so special

People Media Factory is now a home banner. I had worked on Dhamaka, Eagle, and now Mr. Bachchan. Not many know that I have also signed a fourth film in the banner. This shows how comfortable I am with the production house. They have already made over 25 films and will be the biggest in the country one day.

Why are you doing so many films at a time?

There was a time when I was dying to work in a film. I struggled a lot to reach the place where I am. Also, I am at the peak of my career, and that is the reason I am doing so many films. I don't like to sit idle and waste time. Films have been my life, and I will continue to act until I am fit enough. I am also not bothered about my flops and forget them easily. That is how I function.

Future Projects

I have already started shooting for my new film in the direction of Bhanu. He had directed the super hit film Samajavaragamana. Also, my new film with People Media Factory will be announced soon. Apart from this, I am also in talks for a few more biggies which I will announce soon.
