Actor Ravi Kishan is shocked with the way Pushpa star Allu Arjun was arrested in Hyderabad in connection with the death of a fan at the premiere of his film Pushpa 2: The Rule. Calling it a black day in the history of Indian cinema, the actor shared that it was no way to treat a national icon.

Ravi Kishan expresses his view

During an interview with ANI, Ravi expressed his disapproval of the arrest. "It is truly unfortunate. He is a good friend and my co-actor. We have worked together on a film. It is unacceptable to drag a gentleman like him out of his home in front of his young children and elderly parents," Ravi stated.

The actor further remarked, "You are treating a National Award-winning actor in this manner. This marks a dark day for the acting community, the film industry, and all his fans globally. He is a taxpayer who has contributed significantly to the cinema industry, and he is a very cultured individual. Is there some personal vendetta involved in this?"

Ravi subsequently raised concerns regarding the actions of the state government, emphasizing the necessity for them to provide a comprehensive explanation to the public.

"This has been an extremely difficult day, and we are deeply hurt. How will we address the psychological impact on the young children who have witnessed their father being incarcerated? Who will compensate for the emotional distress endured by the family?" he expressed.

Allu Arjun gets bail

On Saturday morning, Allu Arjun was released from custody after spending the night in jail. His arrest was linked to the tragic death of a woman during a stampede at the premiere of Pushpa 2: The Rule. Although the Telangana High Court had granted him bail, he remained in prison on Friday night because the authorities had not received the bail order until late that evening.

Upon returning home and reuniting with his family, Allu Arjun expressed gratitude to his supporters. He stated, “I will cooperate with the authorities and fulfil my obligations. Most importantly, I wish to extend my condolences once again to the family. The death of the woman is indeed a very unfortunate incident,” he conveyed to the media.

Regarding his arrest, the Pushpa star remarked, “As the legal process unfolds, I believe it is best not to engage with the case, and therefore, I will refrain from discussing it. From a legal perspective, I prefer not to comment further.”

About the incident

A day before the premiere of Pushpa 2: The Rule, a tragic incident occurred at the Sandhya Theatre in Hyderabad, resulting in the death of a 35-year-old woman and the hospitalization of her eight-year-old son due to a stampede-like situation. This chaos ensued as thousands of fans gathered to catch a glimpse of the actor during the highly anticipated release on December 4.

In the aftermath of this unfortunate event, the city police initiated legal proceedings against Allu Arjun, his security personnel, and the theatre management, citing various sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) at the Chikkadpally police station, following a complaint filed by the family of the deceased. The actor subsequently announced a donation of ₹25 lakh to the family, assuring them that he would also cover their medical expenses.
