Nitesh Tiwari's adaptation of the Ramayana is among the most eagerly awaited films in recent memory. Enthusiasts have been keenly anticipating updates regarding the cast and release date of the project featuring Ranbir Kapoor, Sai Pallavi, and Yash. Recently, Ravi Dubey revealed in an interview with Connect Cine that he will portray the character of Lakshman in the film. The actor emphasized that the production is characterized by a deep sense of commitment and shared sincerity.
What Ravi Dubey said
When the host inquired if Ravi would portray Lakshman, he responded: “With the appropriate consent from my creators, indeed, I will. I believe there is a certain reverence associated with this project, and I trust that Namit sir and Nitesh sir have a strategy regarding how they wish to present it. It would be inappropriate for me to casually disclose information in front of others. To simply say ‘No comment’ would be tantamount to making a statement. Therefore, I sought their permission and asked what I should say if this question arose. Their affirmative response is why I am confirming my involvement.”
On working with Ranbir Kapoor
Ravi described the film's narration as both 'earnest' and 'sincere.' He expressed his admiration for Ranbir Kapoor, stating, “This is my first experience collaborating with a megastar like Ranbir Kapoor, and his kindness, empathy, quietude, and grace towards everyone are remarkable. He works diligently yet never presents himself as superior on set. Whenever he is in front of the camera, it is evident that he has put in significant effort. He stands out as the only commercially viable artist of this generation. I have found him to be the most graceful individual I have encountered, and I hold him in high regard, akin to an elder brother.”
The pre-production phase of Nitesh Tiwari’s Ramayana is reportedly progressing rapidly. Earlier this year, a leaked image from the film's set, showcasing Ranbir and Sai Pallavi in their costumes, gained significant traction on social media. Although the film's team has not yet made an official announcement, there has been considerable excitement surrounding the project for some time. The producers are targeting a release date in 2025.
