Lyrical shoutout to Raveena Tandon

The song, co-written and performed by Badshah alongside Fazilpuria, Sukriti Kakar, and Neha Kakkar, includes a lyrical tribute to Raveena Tandon. The lyrics state, "Kya naache tu Dilli, hile hai London, matak matak jaise Raveena Tandon."

For those unfamiliar, Karan Johar met Raveena, who was initially apprehensive about her husband Anil Thadani, before incorporating her name into the song. Nearly a decade later, she recounted this experience on Indian Idol Season 16, after the song had achieved significant success.

Raveena Tandon's reaction and Karan Johar's concern

During her recent appearance on the musical reality show, Raveena shared that Karan had reached out to her for permission to use her name in the song following their conversation. Her immediate reaction was one of delight, responding with "How sweet," and she encouraged him to proceed. However, Karan expressed concern, asking, "What about Anil Thadani? He won't be upset with me, will he?" He felt it was essential to obtain Anil's approval first. After sharing the two lines with her, they both found them charming, and regardless of Anil's decision, Raveena affirmed her support.

She also mentioned that they were already avid fans of Badshah.

Chartbuster status of Kar Gayi Chull

Since its release by Sony Music India in 2016, "Kar Gayi Chull" has garnered an impressive 502 million views over nine years. The film Kapoor & Sons was both written and directed by Shakun Batra.
