Fans are keenly anticipating Ranveer Singh's continuation of the Don franchise, following the legacies of Amitabh Bachchan and Shah Rukh Khan. The initial announcement regarding Don 3 was made in 2023; however, various reports have since indicated that the production has encountered some challenges. In a recent interview with India Today, director Farhan Akhtar addressed these concerns, confirming that filming for Don 3 is scheduled to take place this year.

What Farhan said about Don 3

When questioned about the status of the project, Farhan responded, stating, "I am not evading any inquiries. Don 3 is set to commence this year, and 120 Bahadur is scheduled for release at the end of the year."

In November of the previous year, the production company Excel Entertainment issued a statement to address the concerns regarding delays, which stated, "The producers and Ranveer Singh are in agreement that the timelines for Don 3 remain intact. Any reports suggesting a postponement are false. With the timelines firmly established, the objectives for Don 3 are ambitious—aiming to deliver a cinematic experience that honors the franchise’s legacy while establishing new standards."

In 2023, a special announcement video featuring Ranveer's entry into the renowned franchise was unveiled. Additionally, Ranveer shared a charming childhood photograph in which he portrayed the legendary character at home. In the caption, he expressed, “I recognize the immense responsibility that comes with being part of the ‘Don’ legacy. I sincerely hope the audience grants me an opportunity and extends their affection to me, as they have done for many characters over the years.” Kiara Advani is set to co-star with Ranveer in the lead role.

Ranveer was most recently featured in Rohit Shetty's Singham Again, which premiered last year during the Diwali festival. In the meantime, Farhan is preparing for the upcoming release of his latest production, Superboys of Malegaon. The film is set to debut in theaters on February 28 and includes performances by Adarsh Gourav, Vineet Kumar Singh, Shashank Arora, and Anuj Singh Duhan.
