Ranveer Singh is set to enter a new chapter in his artistic career, having completed 18 films over the span of 15 years in the entertainment industry. Recent reports indicate that the actor intends to launch his own production company this year, expanding his involvement in film production.
Ranveer Singh established a production firm in Mumbai
Ranveer Singh is establishing a production company in Mumbai. According to Peeping Moon, he is setting up an office for his production firm near his luxurious property in Prabhadevi, Mumbai, which has already been registered. Filmmaker Aditya Dhar, who is directing him in Dhurandhar, is collaborating with him to curate various projects under this new venture. There are speculations that the actor is currently engaged in developing a legendary epic, anticipated to be one of the most significant projects for the production house. Industry insiders suggest that Ranveer and Dhar may collaborate again on the revival of The Immortal Ashwatthama, a much-anticipated epic film by the director. However, no official confirmation has been provided yet. Additionally, Ranveer is actively involved in the production of a post-apocalyptic action film with a substantial thematic focus.
Numerous potential projects for the actor have stalled due to financial constraints, and his latest films have underperformed at the box office. Consequently, he is now exploring opportunities in film production.
Ranveer Singh's strategic transition to film production
Ranveer appears to be making a deliberate decision in this context. He is no longer inclined to relinquish complete control of his projects to others; instead, he seeks a more active and creative involvement. By producing, the actor can access roles and films that may have previously been out of reach. An industry insider has indicated that Ranveer is enthusiastic about taking the initiative and collaborating with individuals who share his vision for crafting innovative and thought-provoking cinema.
The actor has contemplated production for an extended period. He had previously established a production company named "Maa Kasam Films" in December 2017, although it never officially launched for reasons that remain unclear. It is uncertain whether he intends to revive this previous venture or initiate a completely new one. However, it is evident that Ranveer is fully committed to developing his production studio. His wife, Deepika Padukone, who co-owns KA Productions, is providing her support and expertise as he embarks on this new journey.
Upcoming projects: Dhurandhar and Don 3 delays
The sole film that Ranveer has formally announced for release this year is "Dhurandhar," an espionage action thriller helmed by Aditya Dhar. In this extravagant production, which boasts a budget of 250 crores, he portrays a RAW agent on a mission in Pakistan, sharing the screen with notable actors such as Sanjay Dutt, Arjun Rampal, Akshaye Khanna, and R. Madhavan.
Production for Farhan Akhtar's "Don 3" is scheduled to begin in June; however, the actor is currently engaged in another acting project and has yet to initiate pre-production, making it unlikely that the film will commence as planned. Additionally, the much-anticipated superhero film "Shaktiman," featuring Ranveer, has been officially put on hold indefinitely.
