Recently, Ranveer Allahbadia faced significant backlash due to his inappropriate remarks made during a YouTube episode of India's Got Latent. Following the incident, he issued a video apology a few days later, although many individuals took to social media to express their disapproval of the YouTuber's jokes, which were considered offensive and derogatory. On Friday, both Ranveer Allahbadia and Apoorva Mukhija appeared before the National Commission for Women (NCW), where they provided written apologies after undergoing several hours of questioning, as reported by PTI.

What Ranveer told the NCW

According to PTI, Ranveer expressed to the National Commission for Women (NCW) his intention to exercise greater caution in his choice of words moving forward and provided a written apology. He conveyed to the panel, “This is the first and last occurrence of such an error. Henceforth, I will deliberate carefully and communicate with respect towards women.”

In the meantime, the chairperson of the panel, Vijaya Rahatkar, stated, "Four individuals appeared before the commission -- Tushar Poojari, Saurabh Bothra, Apoorva Mukhija, and Ranveer Allahbadia. The commission will not tolerate the use of inappropriate language. Such comments are unequivocally unacceptable."

About the controversy

During a members-only episode of Samay’s show, India’s Got Latent, Ranveer posed a provocative question to a contestant: "Would you prefer to witness your parents engage in sexual activity every day for the remainder of your life, or participate in it once and end it permanently?"

Subsequently, Ranveer issued a public apology through a video on social media, expressing, "I regret my remarks made on India’s Got Latent. I apologize. My comment was not only inappropriate but also lacked humor. Comedy is not my strength. I am here to express my regret. Many of you have questioned whether this is how I intend to utilize my platform, and clearly, this is not my intention. I will not provide any context, justification, or reasoning for my actions. I am simply here to apologize. I experienced a lapse in judgment, and my behavior was unacceptable."
