14 days ago | 5 Views
While it is commonly believed that the romance between Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt originated during the filming of Ayan Mukerji's Brahmastra, there are indications that Ranbir was involved in the promotional activities for Highway. This film marked Alia's third appearance in Bollywood, following her roles in Student of the Year and Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhania. Interestingly, the marketing strategy for Highway focused more on Ranbir, rather than its actual lead, Randeep Hooda. Randeep has recently suggested that the relationship between Ranbir and Alia may have begun during the Highway project, contradicting the narrative that it started on the sets of Brahmastra. He voiced his feelings about being overshadowed in the promotions of a film where he played the lead, in favor of another prominent star. Here is a summary of his remarks...

Nevertheless, he recognized that the filmmakers aimed to highlight the exploitation experienced by Alia Bhatt's character in the film. However, Randeep remains uncertain about Ranbir's involvement in the project.
Randeep Hooda hints that Highway, not Brahmastra might have been the starting point for Ralia's relationship

It is well-known that Alia Bhatt once expressed her desire to marry Ranbir Kapoor, coinciding with his appearance during the promotional events for her third film, following his collaboration with Imtiaz Ali in Rockstar. Randeep Hooda has suggested that this may not be a mere coincidence, indicating that the film Highway could have marked the beginning of Alia and Ranbir's relationship. It is also important to mention that at that time, fans of Varun and Alia, known as Varia, were supporting their pairing, especially due to their on-screen chemistry in Student of the Year and Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhania. Randeep remarked, "Perhaps that’s where their love story started. I extend my best wishes to them. If this film played a role in bringing them together, I am genuinely pleased for them."
