Alia recently revealed that Ranbir even learned a Malayalam lullaby for Raha. While music has always been a significant part of their bonding, Ranbir has now disclosed the first song he played for Raha, which holds a special connection to his legendary grandfather, Raj Kapoor.
Ranbir Kapoor Reveals the First Song He Played for Raha
Ranbir Kapoor recently attended the IFFI 2024 in Goa, where he participated in a discussion about Raj Kapoor with Rahul Rawail. The event, titled The Greatest Showman – Celebrating the Life and Works of Raj Kapoor, also saw Ranbir announcing the Raj Kapoor Film Festival. During this interaction, he revealed that the first song he introduced Raha to was none other than Kisi Ki Muskurahaton Pe Ho Nisaar.
In a circulating video, Ranbir is seen responding to an audience member who mentioned the song as their favorite. Ranbir said, “I am an 80s kid too. It is my anthem, my favorite song. The first song I made my daughter Raha hear was Kisi Ki Muskurahaton Pe Ho Nisaar. I think even if you just listen to the lyrics, they’re so simple. It’s definitely a great philosophy to live life by.”
Kisi Ki Muskurahaton Pe is an iconic track from the 1959 classic Anari, sung by Mukesh, composed by Shankar-Jaikishan, and penned by Shailendra. The film, directed by the legendary Hrishikesh Mukherjee, starred Raj Kapoor, Nutan, Lalita Pawar, and others, and is still regarded as one of Hindi cinema’s finest.
Ranbir and Raha’s Special Bond
On The Kapil Sharma Show, Alia shared another heartwarming story about Ranbir’s relationship with Raha. She revealed that Ranbir has learned to sing the Malayalam lullaby Unni Vava Vo, which their nurse has been singing to Raha since birth. “Raha and Ranbir’s relationship is one for the ages. There’s a friendship between them. He invents random games for her,” Alia said. She added, “When Raha wants to sleep, she says, ‘Mama Vavo, Papa Vavo.’ That’s her cue to sleep. Now Ranbir has mastered singing the lullaby for her.”
