Actor Ranbir Kapoor has opened up for the first time about his role as Lord Ram in Nitesh Tiwari's Ramayana. In a chat with Deadline, he mentioned that he has wrapped up filming for the first part of the movie and will be starting on part two shortly. He expressed that it's a "really fulfilling chance for me as an actor."

Ranbir shares his thoughts on being involved in the Ramayana.

Ranbir mentioned that he's working on a film titled Ramayan, which he considers India's most epic tale. Namit Malhotra is producing it, and the project features artists, creators, and crew from all over the globe. It's being made in two parts and tells the story of Lord Ram and Raavan. He feels thrilled and honored to share this incredible story with the new generation using modern technology, especially since he gets to portray Lord Ram.

Ranbir talked about the Ramayana.

While on stage at the festival, he shared, “Nitesh Tiwari is directing it. The film is split into two parts. I’ve wrapped up shooting for Part 1 and will start on Part 2 shortly. I feel really honored to play Ram’s character in this story. It’s truly a dream come true for me. This film encompasses everything, showcasing Indian culture, including family relationships and the dynamics between husbands and wives. I’m super excited about it!”

About Ramayana

Namit Malhotra recently dropped some exciting news about the highly awaited film, Ramayana. He shared that the movie will be split into two parts, with Part One set to hit theaters in 2026 and Part Two following in 2027. Along with the announcement, he revealed a striking poster featuring an arrow against a dramatic, fiery backdrop.

According to reports, Sai Pallavi is set to portray Sita, while Yash will take on the role of Ravana. Lara Dutta is cast as Kaikeyi, Sunny Deol will play Hanuman, and Sheeba Chaddha will be seen as Manthara. Earlier this year, a leaked photo from the set showing Ranbir and Sai in their costumes made waves on social media.
