Ranbir Kapoor was last seen in Sandeep Reddy Vanga's Animal. After delivering the blockbuster, the actor is now preparing for his upcoming film Ramayana. Recently, the actor spoke about seeking therapy and how it did not work in his favor. He also talked about men's mental health as well as male vulnerability and how they shy away from seeking help.

Ranbir Kapoor sought therapy?

In a recent interaction with Nikhil Kamath, Ranbir Kapoor also admitted that he was seeking therapy right before his late father-actor Rishi Kapoor was diagnosed with leukemia.

“I have tried therapy before my father got sick. I don’t think it worked for me for two reasons. Firstly, because I couldn’t express myself completely to the therapist. Secondly, the therapist, in some way, was teaching me how to manipulate life,” he said.

He then added that there are certain things that one can teach themselves. He continued, “In order to overcome all this, there is a method that you can learn by teaching yourself certain things. Whatever he was telling me, it made me realise that I don’t want to manipulate life. I don’t want to put some emotion aside to avoid it because it gives me peace.”

Further speaking about male vulnerability, Ranbir Kapoor said that anyone cannot freely comment 'freely' about this subject anymore because somebody could pick up something and one can be titled as anti-feminist or male chauvinist. "I feel whether it is a man or a woman, if they aren’t well mentally, there is no shame in taking help. There is no shame in crying about it, and the people who love you will understand,” he added.

Speaking about the importance of dealing with mental health issues quietly, the actor said that many take advantage of the situation and then use it as an excuse to avoid responsibilities. “Mental health is something that it is nice to tackle it quietly with a lot of grace. Don’t use it as an excuse to not do things and not be a certain way. It’s a problem, find a solution and keep working at it,” he added.
