Animal (2023), Ranbir Kapoor's most recent film, is both a commercial success and a divisive flick that led to numerous discussions on the internet. Some praised the actor's performance as a son driven to vengeance by his fixation with his father, but others panned the film because of the sexism and brutality it depicted. The discussion surrounding the Sandeep Reddy Vanga directorial is still ongoing, even as 2024 is drawing to a close.

Ranbir Kapoor on the responsibility of artists

A member of the audience mentioned that modern Hindi films, such as Animal, depict excessive violence that can have a detrimental effect on society when Kapoor was speaking at a session honouring his grandfather, the late Raj Kapoor, who was a filmmaker-actor. They continued by inquiring about the Bollywood star's thoughts on the duty of film artists to society.

According to Mid Day, the actor expressed his complete agreement with them. It is their duty as performers to release films that have a constructive influence on the world. Having said that, Kapoor believes it is crucial for his acting career that he explores a wide range of roles, styles, and genres. However, what they are stating is totally accurate. Their filmmaking practices need to be more conscientious.

A member of the crowd backed Kapoor up on this claim by bringing up the fact that his late grandpa, Raj Kapoor, didn't make violent films back when he was alive.

Honouring Raj Kapoor

At the 55th International Film Festival of India (IFFI), which is currently underway, Kapoor was a session participant discussing his grandfather's life and career. The actor recently announced that next month there would be a film festival celebrating Raj Kapoor and will feature the re-release of many of his iconic films.

Ranbir's uncle Kunal Kapoor, the Film Heritage Foundation, the National Film Development Corporation of India (NFDC), and the National Film Archive of India (NFAI) have begun the restoration of his films. They still have a significant amount of work to complete, having already restored ten films. As a result, December 13-15 will be a film festival. The films will be released across India. The actor sincerely hopes that everyone will have the opportunity to see Raj Kapoor's work, given that many individuals have yet to do so.
