Actor Alia Bhatt marked her birthday in advance with members of the media in Mumbai on Thursday, accompanied by Ranbir Kapoor. The couple engaged in a question-and-answer session with the press, during which they emphasized the importance of not publishing unauthorized images of their daughter, Raha, to ensure her safety.
Ranbir Kapoor, Alia Bhatt don’t want Raha to be clicked
Alia made it clear that while they do not intend to pursue legal action, they may have to consider it if their request is ignored. She stated, “We do not wish to take any legal measures, but we will be compelled to do so if people do not heed our request. Please wait for Raha to grow older or cover her face when taking photographs.” As reported by NDTV, she further expressed, “My greatest fear is someone breaking in and abducting Raha.”
Ranbir reminded the media of his upbringing in Mumbai's film industry, referring to it as a familial environment. He remarked, “It may seem like a privileged concern, but as parents, we are doing everything possible to safeguard our child. Anyone with a smartphone can share images, which is beyond our control. We are simply asking for your cooperation.” He also recounted an incident where Alia was photographed at their home, which he deemed a violation of their privacy, stating, “We understand the curiosity, but there are boundaries that should not be crossed.”
Alia intervened to clarify that Raha should not be photographed even on special occasions, such as Christmas. The couple reiterated that the Child Privacy Law and Data Protection Law prohibits the use of images of minors without parental consent.
Alia Bhatt deletes Raha’s pictures
This announcement follows Alia's recent decision to delete all images of Raha from her social media accounts. Earlier this year, Saif Ali Khan was attacked at his home after discovering an intruder in his younger son Jeh's room. Since that incident, Saif and Kareena Kapoor have requested that the media refrain from photographing their children, Taimur and Jeh, for their safety. Alia and Ranbir have now adopted a similar stance regarding their own children.
