2024 signifies the centenary of actor Raj Kapoor's birth. In honour of this milestone, a film festival showcasing some of his most celebrated works has been organized in Mumbai this week. During the inaugural night of the RK@100 festivities, the Kapoor family came together for a memorable photograph.

Following their appearance on the red carpet, the Kapoor family assembled for a heartwarming picture. Randhir Kapoor, Ranbir Kapoor, Alia Bhatt, Kareena Kapoor, Saif Ali Khan, Karisma Kapoor, and others posed together, radiating joy and camaraderie as they celebrated this significant occasion.

Ranbir embraced the legacy of his grandfather, Raj Kapoor, for the evening by donning a moustache and a dark bandhgala. Alia appeared stunning in an ivory saree, with many fans suggesting she was evoking the essence of Nargis. After they posed for photographs together, Alia shared a delightful moment with the paparazzi by taking a selfie with them. Her friend Akansha Ranjan was also seen at the event.

Shortly thereafter, the Kapoor family began to arrive, with Kareena, Saif Ali Khan, and Karisma engaging in conversation with the guests present. Notable figures such as Mahesh Bhatt, Farhan Akhtar, Sanjay Leela Bhansali, Boney Kapoor, Rashika Duggal, Soni Razdan, Shahin Bhatt, Vicky Kaushal, Rekha, Padmini Kolhapure, and others graced the star-studded occasion.

The RK Film Festival

PVR INOX Limited, in collaboration with the Film Heritage Foundation, is hosting the RK Film Festival to honour Raj Kapoor’s cinematic contributions on the occasion of his 100th birth anniversary. This three-day festival commences on Friday and will feature screenings of ten of the actor's films, including Aag, Barsaat, Awaara, Shree 420, Jagte Raho, Jis Desh Mein Ganga Behti Hai, Sangam, Mera Naam Joker, Bobby, and Ram Teri Ganga Maili. These films will be showcased in select PVR INOX theatres across 40 cities.

“I hope the new generation will watch his films, appreciate their greatness, and find inspiration in them,” stated Raj Kapoor's son, Randhir, in an interview with PTI, adding that the Kapoor family plans to reconvene on December 14 for a celebration. Prime Minister Narendra Modi has also been invited to the film festival.
