Additionally, the omnibus film Solo Leveling - ReAwakening, which premiered in Indian theatres on December 4, features Daggubati portraying the antagonist Barca in Hindi. This captivating cinematic introduction sets the stage for the upcoming Season 2 premiere in January 2025, as it combines the first two episodes of the new season while revisiting the events of the inaugural season.
Rana Daggubati's surprise appearance at Delhi Comic Con
In response to recent developments, Rana significantly heightened fans' anticipation for the future of Solo Leveling by making a surprise appearance at the 2024 Delhi Comic Con this past weekend. HindustanTimes.com had the privilege of conducting an exclusive interview with him at the event on Friday, December 6, where they explored his connection to anime.
During the conversation, Rana Daggubati shared insights regarding his role in the next phase of Solo Leveling and expressed his enthusiasm for potentially taking on dubbing responsibilities in another anime or manga universe if the opportunity presents itself.
When queried about his status as a certified anime enthusiast, Daggubati remarked, “I’m an anime beginner… I have always been intrigued by the culture, as I used to engage extensively with video games in my youth. I was a comic enthusiast… had some exposure to manga, but my experience with anime is quite limited.”
He further elaborated, “However, I believe… this is my moment. I felt compelled to be involved in some capacity. My life often leads me to unexpected places.”
Rana Daggubati not saying no to future anime/manga projects
The South Indian megastar, who previously provided his voice for the character Thanos in the Telugu versions of Marvel's Avengers: Infinity War and its sequel, Endgame, was further questioned by HT.com regarding his interest in voicing other characters from comic books, video games, or manga/anime in the future. He expressed a keen interest, specifically indicating his openness to any projects related to Berserk.
Berserk, one of the most successful manga series in history, was created by the renowned mangaka Kentaro Miura and is known for its intense sword and sorcery themes. The original anime adaptation of this iconic series premiered in 1997, distinct from the Berserk: The Golden Age Arc trilogy of films and the subsequent 2016 anime series.
Netflix characterizes the original 1997 series as follows: “A wandering, sword-wielding mercenary joins a charismatic leader in his ruthless pursuit of glory and recognition in this epic medieval tale.”
