When Ramesh Indira, renowned for his work on Premier Padmini, began crafting the script for the inaugural Kannada original web series on Zee5—a platform with which he has a long-standing affiliation as a television series creator—he was determined to incorporate elements that would appeal to a diverse audience. Although the trailer suggests a blend of horror and mystery, Ramesh emphasizes that the six-episode series Ayyana Mane, set to premiere on April 25, delves into complex themes of family dynamics, troubled relationships, superstitions, and much more.

The story centers on a family with multiple members, where the daughters-in-law face mysterious and premature deaths. The youngest son, Dushyanth (Akshay Nayak), marries Jaji (Kushee Ravi) and introduces her to the family, making her safety crucial as she seeks to reveal the truth behind the family's unfortunate events. Is there a curse at play, with a higher power exacting vengeance on Ayyana Mane, or is there a more sinister influence at hand?

Ayyana Mane's screenplay moves back and forth between the past and the present

Each episode has a duration of merely 18 to 20 minutes, necessitating Ramesh to introduce the premise while simultaneously detailing the character backgrounds, including those of the three women who have passed away. Ramesh observes, 'The screenplay shifts between the present and the past,' and indicates that he condensed the series from 7 episodes to 6 to preserve a succinct narrative.

'I cannot force viewers to tolerate superfluous content merely because I produced it. With only 20 minutes of material, my objective is to keep the audience captivated throughout. The focus is on maintaining viewer engagement without permitting any lapse in attention,' he explains.

Ayyana Mane, produced by Shruti Naidu, features performances by Manasi Sudhir, Hitha Chandrashekar, Vijay Shobraj, Anirudh Acharya, and others, with Ramesh also portraying a role.
