Rakhi Sawant has captivated audiences for numerous years, initially beginning her career as a dancer before transitioning into acting and reality television. Recently, she has garnered admiration from actor Ram Kapoor, who expressed his respect for her dedication and effort. In a conversation with Siddharth Kannan, Ram discussed Rakhi, noting that the industry has often attempted to confine her to a 'sexy dancer' persona.

Ram's remarks regarding Rakhi

Ram served as the host for the reality television program Rakhi ka Swayamvar, in which Rakhi was selected from a group of eligible bachelors for marriage. When questioned about any regrets regarding his role in the show, Ram expressed that he holds a deep respect for Rakhi, regardless of the results. He stated, “Today, the entire nation recognizes the name Rakhi Sawant. She resides in a three-bedroom, sea-facing apartment in Mumbai, which I have visited and is owned by her. Respect! She accomplished this on her own.”

What reason could there be to lack respect for it?

He further remarked that while he may not concur with her philosophy, which he described as madness and filled with nonsensical statements, it is undeniable that she has successfully built her own life. He has witnessed this firsthand and questioned how one could fail to respect such an achievement. He noted that she is a talented dancer who has faced exploitation within the industry and has endured numerous negative experiences without any influential support. He observed all of this during the production of ‘Rakhi Ka Swayamvar,’ emphasizing that there are lessons to be learned from every situation.

Ram Kapoor is widely recognized for his roles as Jai Walia in Kasamh Se and Ram Kapoor in Bade Achhe Lagte Hain. His most recent appearance was in the web series Khalbali Records.
