Actor Ram Charan turned 40 on March 27, and the makers of his 16th film, Peddi, released his first look from the film. While the actor has played a rustic role before in Rangasthalam, the internet was quick to draw parallels instead with Allu Arjun’s look from Pushpa: The Rise.
Ram Charan’s first look from Peddi compared to Pushpa
Two posters of Ram’s first look from Peddi were released on his birthday on Thursday. One poster sees him looking intensely into the camera as he lights up a beedi, and the second sees him dressed in a torn shirt and holding a cricket bat. While fans loved his rustic look, they also couldn’t help but draw parallels between Peddi and Pushpa.
One fan even compared his second poster to Yash’s poster for KGF: Chapter 1, writing, “Naku okkadikena meku kuda #Pushpa and #kgfchapter1 first look gurthochinda #Peddi (Is it just me or does this remind you too of Pushpa and KGF Chapter 1’s first looks?)” Another X (formerly Twitter) user agreed, “Heavy Pushpa Vibes Throughout.”
Certain fans expressed their delight at witnessing a comparable level of 'intensity' from the cousins, commenting, “Bava Bawmardhi. Same Intensity. #Peddi #RC16 #Pushpa.” One enthusiastic fan even took the initiative to edit together the initial visuals of Peddi and Pushpa: The Rise, highlighting the striking similarities in their cinematography.
A user on X shared both posters with a humorous remark, stating, “Same Same But Different. @AlwaysRamCharan for #RC16 #Peddi, @alluarjun for #PushpaTheRise. Indeed, Sukumar's writing brings a unique touch to both, as reflected in their appearances, @aryasukku.”
Ram's supporters, however, pointed out that he had previously portrayed a rural character in Rangasthalam, asserting that the appearance in Pushpa was influenced by that role. One fan commented, "Why is everyone referring to it as the Pushpa Raj look? Isn't it Chitti Babu's look that inspired Pushpa Raj?"
