"Ram Charan Is Like My Son": Allu Aravind Clears the Air on Game Changer Dig

1 month ago | 5 Views

Allu Aravind, the producer, has finally spoken up about the rumors that he threw shade at his nephew, actor Ram Charan, over the flop of Shankar’s Game Changer. During a press conference in Hyderabad on Monday, he tackled the topic head-on, acknowledging that he faced a lot of trolling from fans of the Mega family because of it.

Allu Aravind sets the record straight

At the press conference, Aravind took it upon himself to clear the air, saying that his comments to producer Dil Raju at the Thandel pre-release event were totally ‘unintentional’. He expressed, “This is really personal for me, and I need to talk about it. When I spoke to Dil Raju, I was just pointing out that he experienced both loss and gain in a short span. I got a lot of backlash for it, but I didn’t mean anything by it.”

He went on to emphasize the strong bond he shares with Ram and urged everyone to move on from the situation. Aravind added, “Charan is like a son to me…he’s my only menalludu (sister’s son), and I’m his only mavayya (maternal uncle). Our relationship is great, so let’s just drop it. I realize now that I shouldn’t have even mentioned it.” He declined to answer any more questions about the topic.

What did Allu Aravind mention?

When producer Raju showed up at the event for Aravind’s film Thandel, he couldn’t help but crack a joke on stage about the Income Tax Department raiding him, mentioning how he experienced both a hit and a miss with Sankranthiki Vasthunnam. He playfully remarked, “Dil Raju recently made history. One of his films was like this (gestures down, referring to Game Changer), while another was like this (gestures up, referring to Sankranthi Vastunam). He got hit by the Income Tax folks. A lot went down in just a week.”

Not everyone found the joke funny, though; some felt he was taking a jab at his nephew. They even shared an old clip of his son Allu Arjun saying, “I was once celebrating when a film flopped.” Aravind’s film Thandel, featuring Naga Chaitanya and Sai Pallavi, hit theaters last Friday and is currently showing.
