Kannada actor-filmmaker Rakshit Shetty is all set to give Sandalwood a new director soon, when Chandrajith Belliappa’s Ibbani Tabbida Ileyali releases in theatres. The Paramvah Studios production will be in theatres on September 5, which Rakshit is keenly looking forward to. He has seen the film thrice already, and can’t wait for audiences to also experience the magic that Chandrajith is set to weave with this love story that has Vihan, Ankita Amar and Mayuri Nataraja in lead roles.

Rakshit: 'Award-worthy performances'

Speaking at the trailer launch of the film, Rakshit said that he’d told Chandrajith during the making itself that he was working with wonderful performers. “I am sure people are going to talk about Ankita’s performance. After watching the film, I had called her and wished her. In fact, I will go so far as saying that Vihan and Ankita will walk away with acting accolades. Vihan’s style of acting is quite subtle, which is a personal favourite. He has a sparkle in his eyes and is able to emote well with his eyes,” said Rakshit.

The actor-filmmaker also called out Mayuri’s performance. “She is there only in 7-8 scenes, but in those sequences, she has made sure that her presence is not only registered, but also leaves a mark. Put together, all three of them are absolutely wonderful,” he added. When asked if Rakshit, as the producer, had a say in the casting, he said that it was Chandrajith’s creative call. He also candidly admitted that there was a thought process about whether this star cast would be enough to recover the investment made on the film, adding that Ibbani Tabbida Ileyali has cost him Rs 6.5 crore till the first print.

Ibbani Tabbida Ileyali follows the love story of Vihan and Ankita as Siddharth and Anahita. However, for reasons that will be revealed in the film, they are not together, and he ends up with Mayuri. The what, why and how will be told in Chandrajith’s film.
