Rakshit Shetty: If you make a mythological film today...
Rakshit expresses a particular fascination with the genre of mythological films; however, he believes that any attempt to create such a film today would necessitate a different approach. He states, "Creating a mythological film in the same manner as it was done in the past will not resonate with contemporary audiences. In today's context, one must adopt a style akin to that of Game of Thrones. The audience is prepared to engage with these narratives, and we have projects in the pipeline. Punyakoti is among them; it is set to be a mythological film."
Rakshit has reiterated that his planned slate of directorial projects remains unchanged from his previous announcements. His foremost objective is to commence work on Richard Anthony, the prequel to Ulidavaru Kandanthe, which he revealed as his return to directing in July 2021. The actor-director indicated that he was in the process of finalizing the script for Richard Anthony in mid-2023 and has not yet settled on the draft that will proceed to production.
