Rajkummar Rao admits he liked Ranbir Kapoor's Animal; defends the film by saying 'it is not called...'

Rajkummar Rao is currently riding high on the success of his recently released movie, Stree 2. Amid the blockbuster success of his film, Rajkummar spoke about Sandeep Reddy Vanga's 2023 film Animal. The actor told a news publication that he thoroughly enjoyed watching the Ranbir Kapoor and Rashmika Mandanna-starrer. Rao also admitted that he liked Sandeep's storytelling.
Rajkummar Rao defends Animal
In an interview with, Rajkummar Rao said he enjoyed watching Ranbir Kapoor's Animal because of its music and the way the film was made. "I like Vanga sir’s storytelling – I think he has got a very new voice of storytelling – which I really enjoyed. Ranbir’s performance was outstanding," he said.
The actor further stated he knew what he was getting into while watching Ranbir and Rashmika's film Animal. Defending the Sandeep Reddy Vanga movie, Rao added, "The film is not called ‘An Ideal Man’, it’s called Animal. So I was going in to watch an ‘animal’ and not somebody I would aspire to be."
Rajkummar Rao reacts to Stree 2's success
Meanwhile, in the same chat, Rajkummar opened up about the massive success of his horror-comedy film Stree 2. The actor stated the thunderous response to the movie is gratifying for him. "These numbers… they mean that those many people have seen the film. Whatever the number is, it means that people have made an effort to go to the theatre to watch your film," mentioned Rajkummar.
For the uninitiated, Rajkummar reprised the character of Vicky in the Amar Kaushik directorial. He reunited with Shraddha Kapoor, Pankaj Tripathi, Aparshakti Khurana, and Abhishek Banerjee for the sequel to their 2018 film. As far as the film's box office performance is concerned, Stree 2 is close to earning Rs 600 crore (gross) at the worldwide box office.
