With fewer than ten days remaining until the release of L2 Empuraan, fans are eagerly anticipating the unveiling of the highly awaited trailer featuring Mohanlal. Although there were speculations that the trailer would be released on March 17, that did not occur. In a recent and thrilling update, Prithviraj Sukumaran disclosed that the legendary Tamil actor Rajinikanth was the first individual to view the Empuraan trailer.

On March 18, Prithviraj Sukumaran, the director of Empuraan, took to social media to share the news that Rajinikanth had already seen the trailer for the Mohanlal film. Accompanying a photo of himself with the Tamil superstar, Prithviraj expressed on social media, “The very first person to watch the trailer of #L2E #EMPURAAN. I will forever cherish what you said after watching it, Sir! This meant the world to me! Fanboy forever!”

Enthusiasts of both Malayalam and Tamil cinema expressed their excitement upon seeing Prithviraj's announcement that Rajinikanth was the first individual to view the trailer for Empuraan. Numerous netizens flooded the comment section with fire emojis, extending their best wishes to the L2E team. One admirer referred to the pair as the ‘Superstar with the Prince of Mollywood.’ Additionally, some fans encouraged the renowned actor, who transitioned to directing with the successful 2019 film Lucifer, to collaborate on a project with Rajinikanth. It is noteworthy that Prithviraj previously mentioned he had declined an opportunity to direct Rajinikanth. He revealed that he was approached to create a film for Lyca Productions featuring Rajinikanth, but he was unable to conceive a suitable storyline for the esteemed actor.

Prithviraj has announced that he will reveal significant news at 6 PM on March 18. Although he has not provided any clues regarding the nature of this announcement, fans are speculating that it may pertain to an update on the trailer release.

Empuraan – the second chapter of the Lucifer trilogy

For those unfamiliar, Empuraan serves as the second chapter in the Lucifer trilogy. The initial film, Lucifer, is accessible on SonyLiv and OTTplay Premium. Mohanlal takes on the lead role in both films, while Prithviraj has directed each instalment, collaborating with Murali Gopy as the writer.
