Actor Rajinikanth is currently in Kerala filming for his forthcoming movie, Jailer 2, directed by Nelson Dilipkumar. A video capturing the actor as he greets fans gathered outside his resort has gone viral on social media. He appeared visibly moved as he exited his vehicle to acknowledge them.

Rajinikanth folds hands as fans scream ‘thalaivar’

In the footage recorded by a fan, Rajinikanth's car arrives at the Tuskers Hill by Poppys luxury resort in Anaikatti, Kerala. Upon noticing fans being restrained by a security guard, the actor steps out of his car to interact with them. The moment he does, the crowd erupts in cheers, with many calling out for their ‘thalaivar’ (leader or boss).

Upon hearing this affectionate term, Rajinikanth clasps his hands together and waves to the enthusiastic fans. He smiles and waves once more before returning to his vehicle. Security personnel were seen inquiring if the fans were pleased to have seen Rajinikanth, to which they responded positively. The fans continued to cheer as his car proceeded into the resort.

On Friday, Rajinikanth also greeted fans from his car as they gathered at the filming location to catch a glimpse of him. A photo of him waving with a broad smile circulated widely on social media.

Upcoming work

Rajinikanth was last featured in Lal Salaam and Vettaiyan; the former did not perform well, while the latter achieved moderate success. He has recently completed filming for Lokesh Kanagaraj’s Coolie, alongside actors Nagarjuna, Nimma Upendra, Soubin Shahir, Sathyaraj, Shruti Haasan, Reba Monica John, Junior MGR, and Monisha Blessy. This film is set to be released on August 14. Jailer 2 serves as a sequel to his successful 2023 film, Jailer.
